Women.
Do they want to CHANGE their men,
or
Please their men?
I found it interesting when the girls or was it Lysistrata?
Who said on page 69
"We want to get laid"
?
because throughout the plays,
both Lysistrata and the Boycott,
I found no trace
(besides the beginning of Lysistrata)
of the women actually saying that they wanted to have sex.
And usually women don't say things like
we wanna get laid,
they say we wanna make love or
whatever like that.
I GUESS.
i'm thinking this is something that the Translator
put into the play
and he tried to show it frm a sorta modern perspective?
esp. by using the phrase
we wanna get laid.
But on pages 70 to 73
i found it interesting
because it's something that we don't see or discuss as often
how women can seem strong,
but really they are just as weak as the men

I think women decide the pace of the run, nd carry the weight of the world... Lik ALiyya always says if we abstain then they have nun else but each other so they will be forced to meet our standards... but if we are just as desperate as they r then we lose so much power....
the women want to have sex but the person that is stopping them is lysistrata, see ignorinf lysistrata is like ignoring miss reash (you know who), you face hell if don't listen to her.
yeah i think Parker just added that in to make it modern.
i noticed the 'laid' part too. lol
