This play,
there are so many puns in it!
Along with these puns are the allusions and the
analogies to things.
Like on page 47, when the commissioner talks about the
bracelets and the shoes,
---i think he makes many sexual allusions, like
idk...aha.
anywhoos,
at the end of that page,
i found it interesting when he said,"
i need the money immediately...and WOMEN, no less, have locked me out of the Treasury!"
lines like that,
that are analogies? metaphors?
of the sexual frustration and those kinda help us get the idea
that this is a BIG deal to them and
creates a tension within the play
that kind of draws the reader in,
along with that we see that the
women's response on the other side of this page,
we calm, the complete
opposite.
of the.
men.
=)
The men,
angered.
and led by the COMMISIONER.
want to break into the Akropolis a
using crowbars!! lol i found that HILARIOUS. hilarious .
anyways, did they even have crowbars back then? or was it just another "translation"?
anywhoooos.
I think the commissioner is funny.
he uses a lot of analogies and methaphors.
those kinds of thing -i think
describes his character because it tells us he's smart. LOL.
no, seriously, i think it tells us that he's really into his homely
way of life if u get what i mean..Lol.
but his words and he's actions are super Beastie!
Look on page 48 to 50, he leads the men into an"up root" of the women.
what kind of MAN would try to disrespect women?! Lols.
anyways, He's an important character i think,
perhaps he's Lysistrata's husband?
since he leads the men and she leads the women?
just a thought.
